September is Hunger Action Month (HAM), a campaign founded by Perficient community partner Feeding America that seeks to spread awareness and fight food insecurity.
This year, the Perficient Giving ERG hosted a friendly HAM competition challenging all global Perficient offices to make a difference by donating non-perishable food items to their local food shelters. Participating offices that made the biggest impact in their communities qualify for special recognition and bragging rights as the 2024 HAM Champions.

So, which office won our 2024 HAM Competition? Stay tuned to find out! Over the next few days, we will share periodic blog posts highlighting the variety of creative ways our colleagues made a difference.
Up first: our India locations!
Bangalore
Bangalore colleagues partnered with Need Base India, a childcare and development nonprofit focused on addressing the fundamental rights of childcare, protection, and education for children. The team’s goal was to help the charitable organization meet their food and grocery needs. Thanks to the combined efforts of our Bangalore colleagues, we donated more than 1,000 pounds of food to Need Base India, enough food to feed 57 children for a month!
Chennai
Our Chennai colleagues supported HAM by partnering with Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, a mission-based organization that carries out extensive educational and philanthropic work in India and abroad. Colleagues were eager to support the organization by bringing food donations to the Perficient Chennai office. By the end of September, the donation box was overflowing with more than 2,200 pounds of food – enough groceries to feed 100+ children for a month!
Hyderabad
Colleagues in Hyderabad chose to support the Chavadi Child Welfare Society with their HAM donations. The Chavadi Welfare Society provides basic needs like housing, food, clothing, and education to orphaned and underprivileged children. Hyderabad colleagues donated meals, snacks, and bags to the Chavadi Welfare Society, benefiting the more than 30 children the organization is currently supporting.
Nagpur 
Our colleagues in Nagpur partnered with the Robin Hood Army, a volunteer-based organization that works to distribute food items to those in need, to package and deliver bags containing essential grocery items to underprivileged families. Thanks to the generosity of our Nagpur colleagues, 70 families each received a 33-pound bag of groceries – approximately 2,300 pounds of food in total!
Pune
Colleagues in Pune had the privilege of visiting Dharamveer Shambhu Anathalaya, a home for orphanage children and elderly residents, during HAM. All month long, the team brought food items to their office and ended up donating more than 286 pounds of grocery items and snacks to residents of the home.
